As trans rights and communities continue to be at the center of fierce political debate, legislative attacks, and rampant misinformation worldwide, journalists on every beat are often unprepared. This interactive training workshop developed and delivered in collaboration between the Canadian Association of Journalists and the Trans Journalists Association changes that. Reporters, editors, and storytellers will learn best practice guidance around vocabulary and terminology; interviewing trans and gender-diverse sources; and reporting on anti-trans legislation. The workshop also offers an environment to discuss reporting on hate and extremism, and gender affirming healthcare, as well as to address other potential reporting conundrums.

Please note: This workshop will take place in English however French language options will soon be available in various locations.
