Trans and gender diverse people are widely discussed in the media, but are often excluded in stories involving them. Journalists may not know the right terminology, practices, or language to accurately and ethically cover trans issues and stories.

Tre'vell Anderson, executive director of the U.S.-based Trans Journalists Association, will share their expertise at this Inside Scoop session to help reporters improve their reporting involving trans and gender diverse people.

What are some common mistakes newsrooms make? How do current journalistic best practices apply to covering trans people? How can reporters minimize the risk of violence towards trans sources?
